Isha Hutchinson found that the best way to unwind from a stressful job was to dance. He would go to local clubs in Dallas where they played the most popular line dances. He quickly found that he was excluded/ostracized from some groups.
After realizing that others may be experiencing the same things, on June 30, 2014, 410 Line Dancers was started in order to create our own FAMILY of people that are INCLUDED, ACCEPTED, and are UPLIFTED.
The name 410 Line Dancers derived because Isha Hutchinson pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, in Spring 2004, and former business partner pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, in Spring 2010. The 4 is bigger and the 10 sits on the 4 because Isha (Spr. 04), was Jerry Caston’s (Spr. 10) sponsor into the fraternity.
410 Line Dancers TV was created in order to interview other choreographers, dancers and influencers in the soul line-dancing community. Our goal is to give the choreographers and instructors around the U.S. an opportunity for the people that love their dances to get to know them. It also allows for groups to promote their events and community service. Our aspirations are to start interviewing musicians and connect them with the people that have created line dances to their music.
The mission of 410 Line Dancers Television is to deliver educational, entertaining, inspirational, and intellectually stimulating, positive and intergenerational programming about the soul line dancing community and the entertainment industry to the public.

This site is the basis for most of the Interview Profiles for our Pioneers.
The Urban Line Dance Connection (ULDC) is a system built to collect and share information about a form of dance loved by many. It has many names around the world: Hustling, Line Dancing, Sliding and Urban Line Dance. Regardless of the name, it's something that unites all races, genders, regions and ages. The Urban Line Dance Connection database allows us to share dances with each other and the world.
The Urban Line Dance Connection site was created by Nicole Poyntz because she had an interest in knowing who created the dances we all were enjoying. In the past, she had heard conflicting stories about who created certain dances so in 1999, (maybe 1998) she started capturing this data in an excel spreadsheet. Other dance genres (e.g. Country Line Dance) have public sites where anyone can search for dances so in 2011 she created this type of site for our dance community.
Since this launch, the system has been expanded to share classes and events. UL DC has also established a partnership with the UC Awards Committee where all nominated dances and instructor classes must be in the system to be eligible for an award. The system was built on a foundation of love.......love for dance and a desire to share our collective talents with the world!
Welcome to Universal Line Dancing where new, seasoned and potential linedancers from all over the WORLD share dances, classes, and more! This page is for positive postings only. Please note: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL NEGATIVITY BE TOLERATED ON THIS PAGE! We are about dancing, dancing, dancing....and did i say DANCING??? With that said......ENJOY!!!!!
From Catrina Daniel:
Fact about this group: Universal Line Dancing has members in 89 countries. This page was started by Lyndsey Styngrray Mayfield Lyndsey Mayfield from Chicago, Illinois USA. EVERYONE is welcome. It was started as a line dancing page, but has grown to over 19,000 members and includes ALL forms of dance. It’s inclusive and not exclusive, ageless and colorless! Just like dancing!!
Welcome and enjoy! Universal Line Dancing was created by Lyndsey Mayfield because, like all of us, she loved line dancing and the line dance community. This is a very large community. It’s not a community of 1, but 1000’s of 1s. If 1 does something to another 1, it’s not a reflection of the entire community. It’s a reflection on the 1 and their freedom to do as they wish, unrelated to the community as a whole. We want to include people in this community who want to be a part of it, but if someone doesn’t want to be a part of it, that’s ok too. We still remain a community through the good and the not so good. We are more than 1 and will continue to do what we love and that’s line dance. Peace to all Have a wonderful week If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer (I'm telling my age lol). While that dream didn't come true, my love of dance remained. A few years ago I discovered line dancing and it changed my life. Line dancing is my passion. Line dancing is my life. danceislife.
I am a ACE Certified Fitness instructor (expired 2020) and an ICLDI Certified Line Dance instructor. I teach beginner and intermediate level soul line dance classes in the Richmond, VA area.
Let me introduce you to the exciting world of soul line dancing.
Here's a little advice for new (and experienced) line dancers that I found on the innanets. 😁 Keep these in mind when you come to class:
😎You came to learn so don't be afraid to jump in.
Once you learn a few basic steps, such as the grapevine, you will find it much easier to pick up new combinations.
😎Be comfortable.
Wear something casual allows you to move freely and stay comfortable. Don't forget about your feet. Wear a pair of comfy, flat, closed-toed shoes.
😎Stand in the middle.
As a new line dancer, avoid standing in the back, even though you think that's the best place to be. Because line dancing involves lots of turns, you could at some point find yourself in the front of the entire group! Stand somewhere in the middle, the safest place for
beginners.
😎Practice makes perfect
Well, I don't know about perfect but it sure helps the memory out. When you get home it makes a big difference if you just try to practice some of the steps or even the dance that you just learned in class. You may not get it all but you will find that it will have helped you immensely when you attend the next class. And don't worry if you mess up, that's why everyone else is at the class as well, for the practice!
😎Don't be afraid to ask for help
If you don't get a step, feel free to ask right away. Often the instructor will ask, "Do It Again" or "Move On" or "Play The Music". Now is your chance to speak up.
😎Relax and enjoy yourself:
Line dancing is meant to be fun...don't be intimidated if you are a beginner. Remember that everyone started at the beginning. Practice is key. Look around the dance floor and you will probably see people stumbling, tripping and stepping on toes...but they're probably laughing about it! Just go with the flow and enjoy❤When I was younger, I wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer (I'm telling my age lol). While that dream didn't come true, my love of dance remained. A few years ago I discovered line dancing and it changed my life. Line dancing is my passion. Line dancing is my life. danceislife.

As a line dance instructor, the best advice I can offer dancers is WRITE.IT.DOWN. Writing down steps to a line dance will improve your retention allowing you to do more of what you love: LINE DANCE.
This book has basic terminology, example of how to WRITE.IT.DOWN and lots of blank pages to write the steps down. 110 pages
